A Flight Through the Future of Steel Production
In June 2025, we had the opportunity to carry out an exceptional drone flight at one of Germany’s most prominent industrial companies: THYSSENKRUPP STEEL.
At their newly built hot rolling mill in Duisburg, we flew our FPV drone through the state-of-the-art facility — a technical masterpiece of concrete, steel, and precision.
The drone flight served not only as a spectacular insight into the production site but also as a visual representation of the spirit of innovation that Thyssenkrupp Steel has embodied for decades.
Our new, compact FPV drone proved to be the perfect solution for navigating the complex corridors, flying over machinery, and gliding along the production lines. At the same time, we were able to deploy our latest 4K FPV camera, which performs exceptionally well in low-light environments thanks to its remarkable light sensitivity.

Filming in the new hot rolling mill pushed both our equipment and pilot to the limit: extreme heat, electromagnetic interference from heavy industrial machinery, and tight spaces posed serious challenges. The FPV drone we used was specifically designed for missions like this — compact and agile, capable of reaching speeds up to 180 km/h, yet stable and precise even in the most confined environments.

An overview of other drone systems we offer for such missions can be found.
In addition to the two-day shoot, we were also responsible for the 4K post-production. We’re especially proud of the audio layer, where we were supported by our partners Hyve Audio and composer Wolfram Gruss.
